'Have a Go' Night
February 2016
We held a successful "Have a Go" night at Snods Edge Church Hall.
With funding generously provided by RWE Innogy UK Kiln Pit Hill Windfarm Community Fund; WCB held a "Have a Go" night on Friday 26th February.
The band showcased some of their favourite pieces (including an amazing rendition of Pink Panther), before allowing everyone to try out any instrument they liked. Sax, flute, string, clarinet, brass and drums tutors were on hand to guide both old and young through the intricacies of each type of instrument. As a very lapsed violin player, I learnt that playing the cello was completely different to violin, but trying to get a note out of the clarinet was even harder!!
Those that came along, were quickly encouraged to join in with the band playing drums, egg shakers, cabasas, triangle, flute, pocket trumpet and saxophone. Even the cowbell got an airing, played excellently by Adam Ryrie.
For those who couldn't make it on the night but are still interested in trying out an instrument, please get in touch. We would love to see you.
