Tynedale Music Festival
March 2016
Another first for our young band...
We have just competed in our first music festival - Tynedale Music Festival at Queens Hall, Hexham.
Playing two of our newest pieces, Crossroads and More Cowbell, I think it is safe to say that we surprised the adjudicator with our enthusiasm and community spirit.
Admittedly we had no competition in the "Open large group or band section" but we still came away with The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Cup and Certificate with a commendation for a convincing performance technically and artistically. Well done everyone!

There were many firsts for us...
- Jonny and Colin ensured that we were in tune in advance, thank you
- we all had the right music and music stand!
- playing on a proper stage at Queens Hall was great
- make sure the organizers know we need seats for playing - tricky for our bass section and part threes to see the conductor behind the tall woodwind section
- make sure we give the adjudicator a copy of our score so he knows what we are playing (especially when we had the music with us).
- get a non slip mat for the drum kit - very slippy stage
